The Girls Rock Camp Alliance in in the process of becoming an independent organization and have submitted our 501(c)3 paperwork.
GRCA do not at this point have any employed staff, all the work is made by volunteers from member camps.
The Board of Directors
GRCA is managed by the Board of Directors which oversee the whole network and coordinate the working committees. The board meet once a month using go-tomeeting, the facilitator and notetaker rotate. Anyone who is representing a full member can be nominated to be on the board. Camps that are currently represented on the board include:
- Willie Mae Rock Camp – N.Y.
- Popkollo – Sweden
- Girls Rock! D.C.
- Girls Rock! Bay Area – Oakland CA
- Girls Rock! Philly – Philadelphia PA
- Girls Rock Camp Austin TX
- Girls Rock! Chicago IL
Working committees
All of the work within GRCA is carried out by the working committees. Anyone who wants to contribute with their skills and time is welcome to join any working committee. For the full list of existing working committees and their point persons go to the contact page.
Your engagement in the working committees goes from the last day of the conference one year to the last day of next years conference. Shortly after the conference all committees submit their proposal for a budget and a timeline for their specific area, which is then approved or denied by the board. The working committee’s job throughout the year is to carry out the tasks in that plan.
